I'm late, I'm late for a very important post......well not that important actually

How bad am I????lol This used to be my homepage but since it isnt anymore then I have kind of let it slide havent I.

Ok life for us in the past 4 months or so.....

-The salon is still going well. Crazily busy in the first couple of months of the year, March not so busy but I think that was down to March Break and Easter being so close together (never again please!!)

-We are still renovating (hahahaha.....got to laugh when you think about it havent you) If it takes us one year to do one room my math tells me that we will still be renovating when I am pushing 50. Once we finish the last room then it will be time to redo the room we are finishing up now!!!

-Kids went away to Blue Mountain for March Break with their father. Had a good time skiing but were happy to come home again.

-We have booked the flights already (thanks to my very keen dad) for the Uk in the summer. I am flying the kids over on 13 July and staying for a week. I fly back, kids stay with their father and then my parents fly them back to Canada on 28 July and they stay with us for 2 weeks.

-We discovered last week that we get free/cheap fares on Via Rail for the month of July. Its a special they are doing for DND personnel past and present. I'm hoping that we might be able to get a few days in Ottawa when I get back from the Uk and it will only cost us about $100 for the train. Cool!

-I'm in a bit of a funk at church right now. I love the people I attend our very small out of date church but I am just not getting anything out of it. Last week for instance I came home and couldnt remember anything what Rev Steven had said in his sermon. How bad is that??? So last week myself and a friend took the bull by the horns and visited another church in the next town. A very good friend of mine goes there and I get good vibes from her about it and now I have visited I am getting more good vibes. The youth group there is huge and they do so much for them. There are weekends away, nights/days in, day trips etc etc organised for them. In the church where we are now, Rebecca and Danny are probably one of the eldest ones there and they are spending their Sunday mornings with a bunch of kids from kindergarten to about Grade 3. I really want them to be able to start interacting with some older kids to prepare them for the teenage years. Ive kind of emailed my friend who is our youth leader and said look Im in a funk, lets do lunch this week and talk about it. She's not going to be happy as "this church is the only church that is worth going to" but Ive come to the conclusion (after much praying about it) that I have to follow my heart and make myself happy not others.

-Steve's 89 year old Grandmother fell down her front steps a few weeks ago. She's ok but she really scrapped herself up a treat. Nobody knew she was lying on the front path for 20 minutes or so until she managed to get herself inside and call my father in law. I went over there as soon as I got the call and she had ripped her shin apart, banged her back and banged her head on the step (you can imagine my reaction to her doing that alone) I asked her if she had lost consiousness and the conversation went something like this

Jo - So did you loose consiousness?
Nagymama (looking very blankly at me.....her English isnt as good as it used to be) - Vat do you say?
J - Consiousness...you know black out
N - I do not what you mean
J - DID YOU LOOSE ANY MEMORY AFTER THE FALL???
N - Oh, I dont know, I cant remember

What are you supposed to say to that???? Anyway she showed me her wound and it was really ripped apart

J - Nagymama, what happened to the skin? Did it rip off completely?
N - No
J - So why is it so open?
N - Because I cut the skin off
J - You did WHAT????
N - Well vat am I supposed to do? The skin was full of blood so I had to take it away
J - ....unrepeatable what I then said to her to which she replied that I knew nothing and I was stupid

So the following day after much nagging her and me making her an appointment with the doctor she was finally persuaded to go to emergency. If you have ever taken a bloody minded 89 year old eastern european woman to the hospital you will know I dont even have to explain the ordeal. We were in there for 4 hours all together and it was 4 hours of me being told there was no need for her to there and the nurses/docs being told their jobs (she does minor surgery on wounds in her front room....ofcourse she knows the job better than those who study and train for a zillion years) I think she just about told every medical member of staff to just leave her alone as she was ok and wasnt sick or old (hahahahahaha) She told the poor radiographer off in the xray for daring to be standing too close to her to try to prevent her from falling as she was about to fall flat on her backside. She told me and her daughter in law off for laughing too much as she was trying to get into the car to come home head first as she didnt have the common sense to try sitting on the front seat while we support her legs into the car. Now I have been told that her leg is infected and she is on antibiotics for it and its all my fault because I MADE her go to the hospital for 4 hours and it is full of sick people so somebody gave her their germs and infected her leg. ARRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

So that is about it for the past 4 months. Now do you see why I dont post very often, there is just nothing to report!
